Air fryer halloumi with spiced honey glaze

A snack that’s tough to beat, this crisp, chewy air fryer halloumi is livened up with a subtly spiced honey for a sweet-meets-salty explosion of flavour. Great as part of a selection of mezze dishes or on its own with a bit of bread. Keeping the cheese in larger pieces ensures they don’t dry out and turn rubbery.

Ingreadient
    • 225g block halloumi, cut into thick slices
    • 1 tsp olive oil
    • 2 tbsp runny honey
    • 1 tsp nigella seeds
    • Pinch chilli flakes
    • Finely grated zest ½ lemon
Instruction
    1. Pat the halloumi dry, then coat with the oil. Heat your air fryer to 180°C, then put the halloumi in it. Cook for 8 minutes, turning halfway.
    2. Meanwhile, if you’re making the dressing, combine all the ingredients and when the halloumi is cooked, drizzle half the dressing over the pieces and return to the air fryer for 1 minute, then serve drizzled with the remaining dressing.
